BACKGROUND
BODY MIND CONNECTION
While working as a Clinical Nutritionist (BHSc Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics, Adv. Dipl. Nutritional Medicine) in gastrointestinal clinics in Sydney, I learned to understand the importance of a holistic approach that does not only cover conventional medicine but also acknowledges body & mind connections.
RECOVERY
I supported hundreds of patients suffering from conditions such as IBS, IBD, Coeliac Disease, and Diabetes. Most patients had developed a disconnect from their body despite pain relief or even remissions with help of their doctor. The trauma and (emotional) stress that their body and mind had to endure was often in a need of recovery and acceptance.
NOT A QUICK FIX
Sessions involved listening and bringing compassion and acknowledgement towards what was happening and how it effected their life's. Our Western minds look for an immediate solution which can help alleviate pain and mimic a healthy state. The body and mind, however, are not that easily corrected.
INTEGRATION
By integrating studies in the Chinese Medicine based 5-element framework and its deeper psychological and emotional meanings, somatic trainings, kinesiology courses, NET and Food Therapy, yoga and meditation I have developed my own unique approach. One that looks at the full complexity of health & wellbeing through a lens of wholeness that treats with compassion, knowledge, education and understanding of the client and its innate need towards feeling whole.
